The Lopez Honeymoon

Hi everyone! A lot of people have asked about details of our honeymoon and what we did. It was the best week of my life by far. Damon and I both had the newlywed glow.
On Sunday, our first day of being Mr. and Mrs. Lopez. We woke up to go to breakfast with all of our family. We said goodbye to all of our family and friends. And prayed that everyone had a safe travel back home.
We stayed in the hotel most of the day to relax. Damon and I were so exhausted from the busy day the day before. Our hotel room had an amazing view of the mountains.

We had lunch at a restaurant called Basecamp Pizza. It wasn't just a normal pizza parlor. They had a beautiful wine bar.
We went back to the room because it started to rain with lightening and thunder. We both thanked God that it wasn't yesterday on our wedding day. We had plans for a sunset dinner cruise on the lake that night. I called to make sure that the cruise was not cancelled and got ready. When we stepped outside the room it had stopped raining. We checked in to the cruise and waited to board the boat.

Once we got on the boat we sat by the window on the second floor. They had a bar with a dance floor and a band set up.

We stepped outside to enjoy the weather, the crystal clear lake, and each other.

Once dinner was ready we headed down to the first floor. We were seated next to the window. They took our food order. Damon and I both ordered the citrus salmon with squash vegetables and wild rice. They brought us garlic bread and caesar salad before the entree. While dinner was served the boat stopped to watch the sunset.

After dinner the boat cruised around Emerald Bay where the Vikingsholm Castle is.

Monday, the second day of our honeymoon we went shopping at the heavenly outlet. It started to rain again so we went to the movies and watched the internship (which I highly recommend). By the time the movie was over the sun had came out. We went down to the loading dock and hung out at El Dorado Beach. I collected fresh water shells off of the beach that I put into a honeymoon activity shadowbox.

(warning label on the new dress I got)

(I found our first married Christmas ornament)

Tuesday, the third day of being newlyweds we relaxed at Lakeside Beach the location of where we got married. We walked around and shopped. (I think we went shopping everyday of our honeymoon. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I might have an addiction!) We ate lunch at a local brewery. Later that day we went to the casino and took a horse carriage ride around the town. Since this was our last night in Lake Tahoe we wanted to watch the sunset on the El Dorado Beach off of the dock.

Wednesday, our fourth day of our honeymoon. We were leaving Lake Tahoe to go to San Francisco. I didn't want to leave. Lake Tahoe has became a sentimental place to Damon and I. It was romantic and relaxing. We really enjoyed each other and everything around us.

We drove to Walnut Creek to visit with Damon's Uncle Danny and Aunt Blanche. He gave us the the three day honeymoon in San Francisco. We are greatly thankful for all you have done for us. (Thank you so much Danny and Blanche if you are reading this. We love you.)

Thursday, day five of our honeymoon. Road the BART to San Fransisco from Walnut Creek. It is freaky that there is a subway that goes underneath the water and the Bay Bridge.

Like every tourist we did the Alcatraz tour.

After the Alcatraz tour was finished we walked to the aquarium.

(I touched a tiger shark and a sting-ray)

We treated ourselves to ice cream and engraved our initials in the wood bench we sat at.

We met up with Uncle Danny and Aunt Blanche after they got off work to go have drinks and dinner. We ate at an amazing restaurant called the Wayfare Tavern.

Friday, the sixth day of our honeymoon we got back on the BART to San Francisco. We did more shopping! We ate at the Cheesecake Factory. And of course rode the Trolley up San Francisco's hills to get to Pier 39.

After all of the activities in San Francisco we got back on the BART to Oakland for the Athletics baseball game. We ate at the restaurant on top of the stadium with Danny and Blanche.

We had great seats!

After the game ended we were allowed to go on the outfield with a blanket to watch the firework show.
It was the best firework show I have ever seen.

Saturday, unfortunately we had to get back home. Our honeymoon had came to an end.

First of Many!

Hello everyone. My name is Heather Lopez (formerly Heather Shelton as of a month ago)  and this is my first blog. I'm currently at Taft College majoring in Accounting. I'm thinking about getting certified as a CPA. Right now I'm just praying about it and seeking after God's will. I work as an Office Manager currently. I married the love of my life on June 8th. We recently bought a condo in January. So, bare with me as I attempt to feed you all words worth reading. WARNING: I'm a talker. And the more excited I get, the quicker I talk [or type]. Happy reading and please let me know what you think! Blessings.
